Fireplace: A Coffee Table That Evokes Warmth and Ambience

Fireplace is more than just a coffee table. It is a design that aims to evoke the attributes of fire and the welcoming ambiance of a home. Attila Stromajer, the designer behind this innovative piece, explains that the inside lighting imitates the warmth of a fire, creating a cozy atmosphere for people to gather around.

What sets Fireplace apart is its unique surface treatment. The table is made of antiqued pine wood, giving it a rustic and aged appearance. This special surface treatment enhances the feeling of burning and ashes, while also adding a touch of modernity and functionality to the design.

The circular look of Fireplace is built up of modern, angular geometric shapes, creating a striking contrast between traditional and contemporary design elements. The table's structure allows for objects to be placed anywhere on or in it, without blocking the warm light that emanates from within.

Practicality was a key consideration in the realization of this design. The table is made of high-quality pinewood and features hidden electrical components. The wires, batteries, and switch are all cleverly concealed, ensuring a clean and seamless aesthetic. The table can be easily charged through a plug located inside, and the warm LED lighting can operate for up to 24 hours.

With its versatility and unique features, Fireplace is suitable for a variety of settings. Whether it's a bar, coffee shop, restaurant, or even a home, this table creates a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. The ability to place objects in or on the table adds to its functionality, making it a practical and stylish addition to any space.

Attila Stromajer collaborated with joiner and constructor Miklós Sárácz, as well as assistant and coordinator Melinda Kalcsó, to bring Fireplace to life. The project started in February 2016 and was completed in August 2016 in Budapest.

This exceptional design has been recognized for its creativity and ingenuity. Fireplace was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
